Our Party

Our next party will take place on July 3rd at Belle-Vue Brasserie.

Expect the usual high quality sound, same welcoming atmosphere, same fair prices, same carefully selected soulful music and some added extras to make it even better than the last edition.

We’ll be starting with a barbecue to make Our Party an even more ideal way to celebrate the beginning of the summer. The foodies among the organising crew will prepare something tasty and energising to keep you dancing all night long afterwards. There will be a wide choice of salads, pastas and other side dishes to go with a selection of grilled meat or vegetarian delicacies. The feasting will begin at 20h. The doors will open at 19hr to give you the chance to enjoy a little aperitif beforehand.

If you want to join this banquet, all you have to do is make a reservation so we know how much food to foresee. Price for the barbecue is 15 € with entrance to the party included (drinks not included). Reserve your spot by sending us a mail telling us with how many people you will come and if we need to take some special needs into account (vegetarian or other).

Once we are all revitalised by the food we will start the party. As always you can expect a mix of Soul, Boogie, Jazz-Funk, Disco, House and beyond. This time not only brought to you by our resident DJs Nick, Yoeri and Bart but also by 2 very special guests.

Rainer Trüby (DJ)
You might know this friendly German connoisseur of fine music and wine from his releases on Compost with A Forest Mighty Black and Trüby Trio (together with Christian Prommer and Roland Appel), the Glücklich compilations on that same label or his Root Down parties in Freiburg. Or you might know him from the fantastic 12” he recently put together with Danilo Plessow (aka Motor City Drum Ensemble) and Vanessa Freeman called ‘Livin’ In The Music’. Or you might not know him at all and then you are in for a very pleasant surprise.

We had this lovely lady over together with Mark de Clive-Lowe for the first joint venture between Nick Blow and Onda Sonora when they played at the fm brussel tonight party last December. She impressed us so much with, among other things, her version of 4Hero’s ‘Hold It Down’ that we had to ask her back. You might know her from her ‘Shades’ album on Chillifunk or from singing on tracks by Faze Action, Jon Cutler, Azymuth, Reel People, Alex Attias, Nathan Haines, Phil Asher, Pressure Drop, Hajime Yoshizawa, 2000Black / Dego, … . Or, again, you might not know her at all and, again, you are in for quite a surprise.

Both artists have a favourite drink and these will also be available at our bar. Expect a fine wine (Rainer) and a moody rum based cocktail (Vanessa). We will also add some summery drinks to our list like bubbles. All for reasonable prices, of course.

Talking about prices. We are keeping the entrance fee to 5 €. Hardly anything to worry about. Certainly not when you see what you will get in return.

The only thing we ask is that you bring your best mood and dancing feet. And that you bring your invitation or a print of it so we know you are motivated to join the fun we offer. We’ll be handing them out at the parties we attend or though mail (please subscribe to the mailing list to get yours every time we do a party) or by printing the flyer you find on this website. We are not trying to be exclusive. The only thing we want is some involvement from the people who attend Our Party. We called it that way because we want it to be everyone on our dance floor’s party too. Sounds complicated maybe but just come and dance and you will understand.
