Roy Ayers Interview
Roy Ayers is one of the true giants of the kind of music we like. His career spans from playing Fusion Jazz as part of Herbie Mann’s band to going solo and creating lots of Jazz / Funk / Soul classics throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s and even 90s. And still going strong today. He has also worked with many other greats like Fela Kuti, Sylvia Striplin, Masters At Work, Kerri Chandler and Erykah Badu.
Needless to say we were very honoured to welcome this man to our studio on June 8th 2010 for a chat about his career, his music and the business in general. An energetic, inspiring and very funny talk it was. In between we play some of our favourite tunes the man has produced.
Big up to Cris Prolific for bringing the man over to Brussels for a wonderful gig and making this interview happen.
