Mix | Phil Asher | Our Party 30.10.2010, Brussels
The sudden passing of Phil Asher hit us hard. As so many of the people who have met him we have got nothing but nice words to say about this legend. For little fish in the pond like ourselves he was one a rare really big fish that genuinely made us feel part of it. From the first time we met him at his Inspiration Information night at the Notting Hill Arts Club, as a couple of fan boys going to see our hero, over the 3 times we had him over to play at our parties, to the many times we crossed paths while partying or looking for records. It always surprised us how generous he was. The gigs we organised were never just another date on his list. He was always committed both behind as in front of the decks. Not the international guest staying in his hotel room until half an hour before his gig starts but talking to everyone, listening to the other DJ’s playing and having a good time. Too many fond memories will never fade away. From drinking soup with us and chatting after the party, waiting for the first train back to London, to leaving Kenny Dope hanging when he spotted us in the crowd at a gig just to say hello and ask how we were. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Hope they find solace in all the genuinely nice things everyone shares about Phil.

This mix is the set he played at OUR PARTY on October 30th 2010. The second time we had him over. It has been a cherished remembrance for us past week but it would be selfish not to share.
Here’s some pictures of that night.
